Transfer partners

From the Rewardtactix Transfer Matrix — see Reward Point Values above for the full table.

What are transfer partners?

Transfer partners are the airline frequent-flyer programs and hotel loyalty programs that a credit card's reward points can be moved into, usually at a published ratio. Examples include Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer, British Airways Avios, Marriott Bonvoy, and Hilton Honors. Once points reach a transfer partner, they're redeemed using that partner's own award chart, separate from the original card's rewards program.

Which transfer partners offer the best value?

By average value per point: Qatar Airways Privilege Club (₹8.8), Japan Airlines JAL Mileage Bank (₹8.5), Avianca LifeMiles (₹8.4), Virgin Atlantic Flying Club (₹8.3), and Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer / Air Canada Aeroplan (₹8.2 each) currently rank highest. These figures reflect typical award redemptions and shift as airline award charts change.

Which transfer partners are highest risk?

By volatility score: SpiceJet SpiceClub (0.50), AirAsia Rewards (0.45), and Air France-KLM Flying Blue, Emirates Skywards, and United MileagePlus (0.40 each) show the highest historical volatility — meaning award pricing and availability change more frequently. Transfer to these programs closer to your booking date rather than speculatively.

Methodology

How Rewardtactix turns reward points data into the numbers above. Full detail on How Rewardtactix Calculates and Methodology.

How does Rewardtactix calculate value?

Rewardtactix uses Cost Per Point (CPP): cash value of the award divided by points required. CPP benchmarks are based on median economy and business-class fares for Indian routes, refreshed periodically. A higher CPP means more rupee value extracted per point — see How Rewardtactix Calculates for the full benchmark table.

How does Rewardtactix calculate timelines?

Timeline = points required ÷ monthly earn rate. Monthly earn rate comes from each declared card's published earn rate applied to default or user-entered spend by category. Points required comes from static award-band data verified against airline award charts for the chosen route, cabin, and traveler count.

How does Rewardtactix calculate transfer partner rankings?

Transfer path recommendations are ranked by CPP of the resulting redemption, consistency of saver award availability on the route, and typical transfer speed — in that priority order. A partner offering a higher CPP but with poor saver availability can rank below a partner with a slightly lower CPP but reliable space.

How does Rewardtactix evaluate risk?

Each transfer partner is evaluated on historical volatility — how much its award pricing and availability have changed over time — and devaluation history, meaning past reductions in redemption value. Programs with low volatility and a stable devaluation history are treated as safer to hold points in; higher-volatility programs are flagged for closer-to-departure transfers.
